Everything including the kitchen sink.

A while back we went to Tuscany, Italy, to learn to do 3D on computers. When we got back I figured I needed a nice meaty project to hone those fledgling 3D skills. I would build the kitchen. Yes, the whole kitchen. From scratch.

Got carried away, I guess. After I’d drawn the cupboards, shelves and drawers, the oven, the microwave, the cooker hob, the freezer, the icemaker, the fridges, the wire baskets and halogen light fittings, I created all the power outlets, TV sockets, taps, soap dispensers, drinks mats and the little glass table where we play Uno. All to an accuracy of about a millimetre.

Since then I’ve been working my way through the house. And the London apartment. Mad, but wicked fun and filled with philosophical lessons. Good practice, too.  Go »
